How To Use ChatGPT To Your Advantage

Recently, the company OpenAI released ChatGPT, an artificial intelligence chat system prototype that is gaining a lot of attention.
Different from other AI systems, ChatGPT is known for producing very accurate, conversational information just like you are speaking with an actual person, an expert I might add.
Some worry that ChatGPT could change the copywriting game forever. Let’s talk about why that is and isn’t true.
Why That is True:
After reading the Forbes article, Who Ultimately Owns Content Generated by ChatGPT and Other AI Platforms? it seems like there are not many laws around who the responses belong to as of now. To me, that means you can use those responses as your own because AI does not currently have copyright laws.
Why That Isn’t True:
More and more limitations are coming out where ChatGPT can get its information every day, making it less and less effective for some topics. For example, Elon Musk tweeted that Twitter would not allow OpenAI to use their platform to train ChatGPT momentarily as the company is no longer non-profit and should be paying for this information.
While this AI will help you, it will likely never finish your thought. You can ask it a question, but you as the writer still need to make sense of whatever you are writing. It is not a perfect system in that way.
How you can use this to your advantage:
This intricate chat system takes all the information it can possibly absorb from the internet and formulates a response. Basically, it's doing the research for you. I’ve already started to use this to ask what my audience wants to see or hear. It is a decent tool to use when you are trying to get more details about your target audience. It takes some of the guesswork out of picking relevant topics for content creation.
Sometimes I find writing something meaningful for social media captions, with SEO in mind can be daunting. Though with the use of this AI, it can make it simple. You can ask the system to write you a caption on anything. They are not all good, but AI is still helpful!
My overall opinion on this topic is that we cannot hide from the development of artificial intelligence.
It would not make sense to write it off without seeing the value in it. Even for someone who is in the field of marketing and copywriting and could potentially suffer from something like the ChatGPT, it is only rational to embrace it. It may never be the end all be all, but for now, I am excited to use it!
